Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team. The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing design submissions, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards, and regulations, and providing expert advice on necessary modifications to optimize project delivery. Responsibilities: Assess and review Structural engineering design plans, drawings, and specifications submitted by external consultants or contractors. Ensure that all design documents meet project objectives, local and international codes, standards, and best practices. Recommend necessary design modifications or improvements to optimize functionality, safety, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (Civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure design coherence and resolve any conflicts. Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure designs consider constructability, feasibility, and cost optimization while maintaining quality and project integrity. Identify potential risks related to the structural design and propose mitigation strategies. Review and verify design documents, calculations, and reports before final approval. Conduct site visits as required to ensure that designs are being implemented as planned and provide on-site guidance where necessary. Prepare regular reports and presentations on design progress, challenges, and proposed modifications for senior management and stakeholders. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field. Minimum 12 years of experience in Structural design, with at least 5 years in a PMC environment reviewing designs. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is preferred. Advanced knowledge of structural design software such as ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAFE, SAP2000, and AutoCAD. Strong understanding of local and international building codes, design standards, and regulations.
