GIS Specialist

Responsibilities: Collect, process, and analyze spatial and geographic data from various sources. Create, maintain, and update GIS databases, maps, and related documentation. Design and produce high-quality cartographic outputs and reports. Perform spatial analysis to support planning, engineering, or infrastructure-related projects. Support integration of GIS data with other applications (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM, Excel). Collaborate with internal teams to interpret GIS data for use in project development. Conduct field data collection and verification using GPS and mobile mapping tools. Ensure accuracy and quality of GIS data and metadata according to standards. Assist in the development and implementation of GIS-based tools or dashboards. Develop and manage web-based GIS applications and dashboards using ArcGIS Online or similar platforms. Digitize and georeference engineering drawings, survey maps, and other legacy data. Conduct quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) checks on spatial datasets. Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to gather GIS requirements and provide timely data support. Prepare thematic and analytical maps for presentations, reports, and decision-making purposes. Maintain metadata standards and document data sources, updates, and changes accurately. Support spatial modeling and scenario planning exercises. Train and support non-GIS users in basic GIS functions or data viewing platforms. Ensure compliance with organizational and client-specific GIS data standards and procedures. Assist in preparing spatial data deliverables and documentation for project submissions. Essential Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geoinformatics, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in GIS roles. Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS). Familiarity with spatial data formats, coordinate systems, and data conversion. Knowledge of database management and basic programming/scripting (Python, SQL, etc.) is a plus. Experience with GPS data collection and mobile mapping applications preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
