Responsibilities: Develop design strategies, methodologies, and workflows to guide the design process from concept to completion. Establish design objectives, priorities, and key performance indicators (KPIs) in alignment with project goals. Lead and manage the design team, including architects, engineers, drafters, and consultants. Delegate tasks, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative work environment to enhance creativity and productivity. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, project managers, contractors, and vendors. Facilitate design workshops, reviews, and presentations to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure alignment. Oversee the development of design concepts, sketches, drawings, and specifications in accordance with project requirements. Conduct design reviews, critiques, and evaluations to ensure compliance with technical standards, codes, and regulations. Establish quality assurance processes and procedures to maintain the integrity and consistency of design deliverables. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify the accuracy, completeness, and quality of design documentation. Prepare and manage design budgets, resource allocations, and project schedules to optimize efficiency and productivity. Monitor design expenditures, track costs against budget, and implement cost-saving measures as necessary. Identify, assess, and mitigate design risks and uncertainties that may impact project outcomes and deliverables. Develop risk management plans and contingency measures to address potential issues and ensure project success. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or related field. Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in design management roles within the construction industry, with a focus on large-scale hospitality projects. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate design teams. Proficiency in design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong understanding of architectural and engineering principles, building codes, and construction practices. Creative thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative design solutions. Effective project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Professional certifications or affiliations in architecture or design management (e.g., AIA, NCARB, LEED) would be advantageous. Experience working in a PMC environment or with hospitality industry clients. Familiarity with sustainable design principles, green building certifications, and wellness standards.
