Job Overview This role is conducted within the vision, mission, and strategic plan of the Insurance Authority. The Director of FDI & Investor Relations champions the Authority’s mandate to accelerate foreign capital inflows and cultivate enduring investor partnerships that catalyse insurance-sector growth and competitiveness. The role includes performing relevant duties to support the implementation of the National Insurance Strategy (NIS). Reporting to the Executive Director of Sector Development & FDI, this role will formulate market-leading attraction strategies, policy frameworks and service models that align with Vision 2030 imperatives and position the Kingdom as the region’s preferred insurance gateway. The Director orchestrates cross-government collaboration, global outreach, and rigorous due-diligence governance to secure high-quality investments while safeguarding regulatory integrity and sustainability objectives, ensuring long-term sector resilience. Responsibilities and Tasks Direct the formulation of an integrated FDI attraction strategy for the insurance sector, ensuring full alignment with the Executive Director of Sector Development & FDI’s roadmap and national Vision 2030 imperatives. Design and own incentive frameworks, licensing pathways and policy recommendations that position the Authority as the preferred gateway for foreign insurance capital. Coordinate with the Director of General Sector Development and the Director of Sustainability & ESG to embed market-expansion and green-finance targets into FDI programmes while avoiding functional overlap. Lead targeted origination campaigns, international roadshows and bespoke outreach to high-potential foreign insurers, reinsurers and investment funds, converting prospects into committed investors. Manage the end-to-end investor journey—qualification, licensing, onboarding and after-care—serving as the single executive escalation point for service delivery. Build and maintain an intelligence-driven CRM portfolio that tracks pipeline health, conversion ratios and post-investment satisfaction, and present performance dashboards to senior leadership. Represent the Authority in global investment forums, G2B delegations and bilateral working groups, negotiating memoranda of understanding that unlock new capital flows. Liaise with the Ministry of Investment, regional authorities and policy-setting bodies to harmonise incentives, streamline approval cycles and remove regulatory roadblocks. Collaborate with the Director of Research & Studies to leverage data insights for promotional material while delegating primary research execution to the Research division. Oversee enhanced due-diligence, KYC and source-of-funds reviews on prospective investors in partnership with Legal Affairs and Compliance directorates, safeguarding sector integrity. Monitor adherence to Kingdom-wide FDI regulations, anti-money-laundering standards and the Authority’s risk appetite, escalating breaches and recommending remedial actions to the Executive Director. Manage the department’s operating budget, approve resource allocation across campaigns and track return on investment for promotional expenditures. Coach, mentor and performance-manage a multidisciplinary team of consultants, experts and specialists, fostering a data-driven, customer-centric culture that consistently exceeds service-level targets. Oversee departmental strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, and workforce management to ensure cohesive and efficient FDI & Investors Relations operations aligned with IA’s strategic framework.
