Job Purpose The Superintendent, Geology – MM Deeps Underground is responsible for leading day-to-day underground geology activities for the MM Deeps operation, ensuring safe and disciplined execution of grade control, face mapping, sampling, ore delineation, and geological support to underground mining. The role acts as the key operational interface between geology, underground mining, and technical teams, with clear accountability for dilution control, ore loss management, data quality, and underground geology team performance. Key Accountabilities • Lead and supervise underground geology teams responsible for grade control, development mapping, face mapping, sampling, and ore delineation. • Ensure accurate and timely geological support to underground mining activities, including ore/waste boundaries, stope support, and development headings. • Drive operational discipline in underground geology routines, ensuring field standards, shift coverage, and work quality are consistently maintained. • Manage underground grade control drilling, sampling programs, and geological data collection to support production and short-term planning. • Work closely with underground mining teams to minimize dilution, reduce ore loss, and improve mining selectivity. • Support reconciliation reviews by ensuring geology inputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with operational reality underground. • Validate underground geological interpretations and ensure dig instructions, ore outlines, and production guidance are practical and fit for execution. • Coordinate with resource evaluation, mine planning, survey, and database teams to ensure underground geological information is reliable and current. • Coach and develop underground geologists and technicians, building stronger field capability and operational accountability within the team. • Ensure compliance with safety, underground operating procedures, and all geology-related standards and reporting requirements. Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).  Strong experience in grade control and orebody interpretation.  Experience in both open-pit and underground operations is mandatory.  Experience managing geology teams in active mining environments. Minimum Experience:  : 8–12 years of operational mine geology experience, with strong exposure to underground mining environments, grade control, ore delineation, and geology–mining interaction.. Skills: • Strong underground operational geology capability; face mapping and ore delineation; dilution and ore loss control; leadership of field geology teams; coordination with underground mining crews; clear reporting and practical decision-making in a production environment.
