JOB DETAILS: Position Title: Technician Broad Band: M06: Semi - professional Talent Pipeline Layer: Manage Self Operational (MS) 2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: Inspect, test, repair, and maintain (discipline specific) plant and operations equipment/machinery (routine, ad-hoc, emergency and strategic maintenance) to ensure continuous integrity, and sustainable and safe operation 3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Qualification: 1. High school certificate 2. Maths and Science desirable 3. Trade test + 1 Year experience as Artisan (subject to personal performance) Experience: 2 Years relevant experience Skills: * Acute safety awareness and attitude * Sound analytical and problem solving skills * Competent interpreting regulations and codes; reading ISO drawings Mechanical/Electrical/Instruments flow diagrams and other technical drawings * Practical knowledge of the application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment * Sound workable knowledge of discipline specific machines, materials, methods, tools and equipment, including their designs, correct application and safe use, repair and maintenance * Competent in troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions * Sound understanding of specific section's processes and procedures * Sound knowledge of applicable safety codes, regulations, rules and procedures * Controlling operations of equipment and/or systems * Sound knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost, and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture and distribution of goods * Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models * Full physical mobility, and ability to work in confined spaces and/or at hights * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Teamwork * Ability to handle pressure and setbacks * Competent in using applicable technology software and/or systems * Critical thinking * Sound time management skills * Qualified first-aid provider 4. Consistently achieve all HSE targets * Routinely inspect and test equipment/machinery/fixtures, using applicable(discipline specific) testing equipment/tools * Identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with safety and other regulations (with limited supervision where required) * Correct and safe use of a variety of discipline specific tools or equipment (manual and power tools) to test, analyse, repair and modify plant equipment/machinery/fixtures * Perform routine service requirements * Troubleshooting: determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it * Execute repairs/modifications: dismantle, fix and reassemble of machines/equipment * Examine workpieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications and safety requirements * Perform ad-hoc and/or emergency maintenance (including shutdowns) * Execute discipline specific artisan work during projects * Plan layout and installation of equipment/machinery/fixtures * Prepare and maintain records, detailing tests, repairs and/or maintenance * Consult manuals, schematics, flow diagrams and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and to determine optimum equipment functioning * Analyse test data to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems and/or to evaluate effects of systems modifications * Strict adherence to safety codes, regulations, rules and procedures * Read and comply to work orders and specifications to determine machine/equipment requiring repair or maintenance * Identify correct parts needed for replacements and repairs and timely order following correct procedures * Perform standby duties when required Leadership 1.
