Role Purpose To provide services to patients for whom he / she is responsible to the highest attainable standard of care within the resources of Dallah Hospital by performing radiological procedures at a technical level without supervision. Uses independent judgment and initiative to obtain the radiological studies for the prescribed examinations. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as scheduled by the supervisory staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Selects and operates appropriate equipment for each exam. 2. Positions patients according to examinations requested. 3. Selects appropriate technical factors for each patient. 4. Produces images of acceptable film quality. 5. Uses suitable working practices to ensure that all radiation protection and safety regulations are complied with 6. Maintains correct attitude of professional conduct and conforms to all normal ethical relationships. 7. Ensures examination rooms are in a state of cleanliness and readiness at all times. 8. Reports all equipment malfunctions to the Chief Technician or designee. 9. Assists in the emergency treatment of patients. 10. Observes all infection control standards laid down in policy documents, particularly in respect to sterile procedures. 11. Administer (under the direction and supervision of the radiologist) oral, rectal and parenteral contrast media, including intravenous contrast media. 12. Implements and coordinates policies and procedures to achieve the hospital’s goals and objectives in pursuit of Standards of Care, Quality / Performance Improvement. 13. Participate in patient and family education to help patients and families to better understand and participate in their care and make well informed care decisions. 14. Performs any other duties within range of his/her professional knowledge and skills as directed by Chief Radiology Technician and / or Head of Radiology Necessary Knowledge and Experience Essential: Minimum of two years post graduate/diploma practice in an acute care facility. Desirable: Practical experience in MRI/CT/Ultrasound/Angio for at least one year in an acute care facility. Education and Certification Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institute/college. Skills Essential: Able to speak and read English and Arabic. Excellent interpersonal skills. Desirable: Previous working experience in Middle East healthcare facilities.
