Storage & Backup Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Storage & Backup Engineer to manage and enhance our advanced storage and backup environments within the Enterprise Compute Infrastructure team . In this role, you will take ownership of architecture, engineering, and operational excellence across both on-premises and cloud platforms, helping ensure high availability, security, and performance of critical systems. Key Responsibilities Lead storage & backup architecture across on-prem and cloud environments, driving reliable and scalable solutions (NetApp, Nasuni, VAST, Rubrik). Design and implement enterprise backup strategies using Rubrik, ensuring data integrity, security, and recovery within SLA for large-scale environments. Optimize SAN/NAS performance and capacity , proactively identifying improvements to enhance availability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Drive disaster recovery readiness , actively participating in DR exercises and ensuring business continuity across critical systems. Support automation and monitoring initiatives leveraging tools like Splunk, ServiceNow, CHEF, or Tanium, alongside scripting (PowerShell/Python/Bash). Collaborate cross-functionally and lead infrastructure projects , including site onboarding, cloud transitions, and workload migration between environments. What You Bring 3–4+ years of experience with SAN/NAS systems (NetApp) in enterprise environments Strong experience with backup technologies (especially Rubrik) across large, mission-critical environments Expertise in cloud storage and data protection (AWS, Azure, GCP) Solid background in performance optimization, capacity planning, and infrastructure operations Experience with monitoring and ITSM tools (Splunk, ServiceNow) Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, NFS, SMB/CIFS, SCSI) Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (CHEF, Tanium, PowerShell, Python, Bash) Experience working with hardware installation (racking & stacking) and documentation/runbooks Nice to Have Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure (Dell VxRail, Flex OS, etc.) Knowledge of VMware, Linux, and Windows environments Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently ITIL knowledge and experience in IT processes and change management Technical certifications in relevant technologies Professional Expectations Availability for on-call support and maintenance activities Strong collaboration with vendors and cross-functional teams Ability to align infrastructure solutions with business objectives Ownership mindset with focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence What We Offer Competitive salary, regularly reviewed based on performance 25 vacation days + additional days for special occasions Meal vouchers Flexible benefits budget (medical, life insurance, pension, vouchers) Private medical insurance fully covered Opportunity to work in a global, innovative environment Equal Opportunity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
