Electrical Technician

The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of electrical maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting tasks on complex machinery and equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of electrical systems, particularly high-voltage systems, generators, transformers, and protection mechanisms, while adhering to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and quality standards.

• Electrical Maintenance: Execute daily and preventive maintenance tasks as per scheduled procedures and timelines.
• Equipment Monitoring: Regularly inspect and monitor the condition of electrical equipment, identifying and reporting any anomalies or potential issues to the Electrical Supervisor.
• Fault Response: Respond promptly to electrical failures, diagnosing and repairing faults in circuits, wiring, motors, transformers, relays, and control devices to minimize downtime.
• Technical Expertise: Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to perform maintenance and troubleshooting effectively.
• Equipment Calibration: Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment according to specifications, maintaining detailed records of these activities.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure the availability of necessary components for maintenance tasks.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive maintenance logs, documenting work performed, issues encountered, and the overall condition of equipment.
• Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Compliance: Adhere to all organizational policies, maintenance procedures, and HSE standards to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.

• Minimum Qualifications: Technical Certificate or Associate Diploma in Electrical Maintenance.
• Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within a plant or industrial setting, with a proven track record in the following areas:
• Electrical generators and excitation systems.
• High voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) systems.
• Semi-overhauling of high voltage motors.
• Electrical transformers.
• Electrical protection systems.

• In-depth practical knowledge of HV/MV systems, generators, transformers, and protection systems.
• Proficiency in electrical fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• Awareness of HSE and quality standards.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• ISO awareness or working knowledge (preferred).

• Internal: Electrical Supervisor, Maintenance Engineers, Operations Team.
• External: N/A (No external stakeholders are directly involved in this role).
