Material Follow-Up Specialist

The Material Follow-Up Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient supply chain for materials, parts, and assemblies, which are essential for the manufacturing process. This position is responsible for maintaining a seamless flow of goods from suppliers to the production plant.

• Continuously monitor supplier performance by tracking and documenting any delays or issues.
• Act as a liaison between the company and suppliers, addressing shipment-related problems promptly.
• Create and maintain a comprehensive record of supplier performance, enabling data-driven decisions for process improvement.

• Handle urgent situations by expediting shipments when required.
• Keep the relevant teams informed about expedited deliveries, providing real-time updates.
• Utilize SAP and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipment progress, including Estimated Dates of Arrival (EDAs) and Estimated Times of Arrival (ETAs).
• Conduct root cause analysis for premium transportation issues to prevent recurrence.

• Ensure accurate inventory levels by setting minimum and maximum stock limits in the SAP system.
• Regularly review and reconcile inventory counts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
• Implement measures to optimize inventory management and reduce the risk of stockouts.

• Identify and address supplier-related problems such as shipping errors, labeling issues, and scheduling conflicts.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve these issues promptly and effectively.
• Document all supplier-related incidents and escalate them according to the company's five-alarm process.

• Monitor the arrival of materials, parts, and assemblies, ensuring they meet production requirements.
• Keep relevant teams and stakeholders updated on the status of critical components.
• Provide support during engineering changes, launch planning, and manufacturing validation builds.

• Attend daily operations meetings to discuss material-related matters and share updates.
• Actively contribute to the resolution of any material-related concerns during these meetings.
