Job Title: Electrical Power Systems Manager

The Electrical Power Systems Manager is a critical role within the KAUST Utilities department, responsible for the efficient and safe management of the power system and electrical networks. This position oversees a team of professionals, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of electrical assets, and providing leadership in various technical and administrative areas.

• Substation and Network Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of electrical power substations and networks, ensuring high efficiency and minimal downtime.
• Performance Enhancement: Continuously improve electrical systems performance, focusing on technology utilization, cost reduction, and best practices.
• Decision-Making: Make critical decisions regarding job priorities, equipment usage, repair strategies, and maintenance techniques.
• Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate team performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure high-quality output.
• Contractor Management: Evaluate and manage contractor performance, ensuring timely issuance of Work Completion Certificates.
• Team Leadership: Lead and manage electrical operation and maintenance teams, allocating resources and ensuring department goals are met within budget constraints.
• Emergency Response: Develop and implement the Emergency Response Plan for electrical emergencies and service interruptions.
• Single Point of Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for all power-related inquiries and issues.
• Electrical Design and Modifications: Review and approve electrical design plans for modifications and new connections, ensuring reliability and business continuity.
• Project Management: Oversee electrical scope additions and modifications, adhering to KAUST project procedures.
• Enhancement Initiatives: Identify and propose operational and capital project enhancements.
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Compliance: Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSE and O&M Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Asset Management: Manage the electrical asset registry, condition assessment, and replacement planning.
• Vendor and Contractor Relations: Establish communication channels with vendors and third-party contractors for effective collaboration.
• Contract Administration: Govern the implementation of contract terms and conditions.
• Risk Management: Regularly review and update the Risk Register, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery Plans.
• Incident Management: Monitor and address corrective actions from accident investigations, engineering reviews, and other relevant sources.
• Business Continuity: Collaborate with KAUST departments to maintain and enhance the Business Continuity Plan.
• ETAP Program Management: Oversee the KAUST Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP).
• Technical Approvals: Review and approve technical and maintenance requirements from the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).
• Work Permit Management: Ensure sufficient work permit issuers and receivers for efficient job execution.
• Incident Reporting and Correction: Ensure timely reporting, documentation, and correction of near misses and incidents.
• Safety Audits: Conduct safety audits and ensure the implementation of corrective actions.
• Risk Communication: Disseminate risk information to relevant stakeholders.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and process optimization.
• Diving Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of diving equipment to meet safety standards.

• Education: A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering.
• Experience: Over 10 years of experience in a related field, with at least 5 years in a managerial position.
