Responsibilities: Provide on-site leadership and technical expertise to oversee the construction project from start to finish. Coordinate with project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications. Monitor and evaluate the progress of construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Conduct regular inspections of the construction site to identify potential issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Resolve any technical and engineering issues that may arise during the construction process, and provide proactive solutions to keep the project on track. Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, inspection records, and change orders. Manage and supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure effective coordination of project activities. Collaborate with the project management team to identify and implement best practices for construction management and quality control. Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, address concerns, and facilitate smooth project delivery. Uphold a strong commitment to safety, ensuring that all construction activities comply with safety standards and regulations. Collaborate with the design team to review and approve construction drawings, specifications, and other technical documents. Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies required for the construction project, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions. Conduct regular meetings with project stakeholders to discuss project progress, challenges, and resolutions, fostering effective communication and collaboration. Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, local communities, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure project compliance and community engagement. Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure that construction work meets design specifications and industry standards. Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs and resources without compromising quality or safety. Oversee the commissioning and testing of building systems and infrastructure to ensure functional performance and compliance with project requirements. Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers, site staff, and construction workers to enhance their skills, knowledge, and safety awareness. Implement environmental sustainability practices and initiatives throughout the construction project to minimize the project's impact on the environment. Prepare and present project progress reports, budget analyses, and risk assessments to senior management and project stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement. Essential Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred. Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or similar role in construction projects, with a focus on educational facilities preferred. In-depth knowledge of construction management processes, building codes, and industry standards. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office applications.
