Job Title: Senior GIS Applications Development Specialist Salary: Competitive Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The Senior GIS Applications Development Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining GIS applications to support geospatial data products. The purpose of this role is to ensure that alt GIS applications are optimized and user-friendly while meeting the applicable geospatial data standards and policies. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES · Develops and maintains GIS applications to support geospatial data and intelligence products · Ensures that all GIS applications are optimized and user-friendly while meeting the applicable geospatial data standards and policies · Collaborates with other geospatial specialists to integrate GIS applications into geospatial products · Applies analytical and programming skills to develop optimal GIS applications · Monitors GIS applications development processes to ensure quality and timeliness · Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of GIS applications development platforms and tools · Ability to work well unsupervised and will be able to plan and organise the team’s activities. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION · Extensive experience in GIS applications development roles · Ideally a Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field · Certificate in GIS · Strong knowledge of GIS application development principles and technologies · Knowledge of data management and database systems · Familiarity with geospatial data standards and policies · Strong analytical and programming skills · Experience in developing GIS applications for various platforms, including desktop, web, and mobile · Strong verbal, and written communication skills · Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and customers · Experience in using ArcGlS Pro, ArcGlS Desktop, QGIS, GeoServer, Python, R, SQL, JavaScript softwares EXPATRIATE EMPLOYEE BENEFITS In return for the required high levels of commitment and hard work you will receive a competitive salary, rent free accommodation and access to free recreation facilities, all available within Company secured accommodation.
